My name is Belinda Seiger. I have been a licensed therapist for over 20 years providing specialized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Counseling, Harm Reduction and Acceptance and Committment therapy. I tailor my approach to fit your needs, rather than attempting to use a “one size fits all” methodology for your situation. I used evidence based therapy to treat OCD and related disorders, specifically Exposure Response and Ritual Prevention, which is the only evidence based (researched) method that works to treat the symptoms of OCD.
I attended Columbia University for my M.S., New York University for my PhD, and the University of Pennsylvania Perleman School of Medicine for training in the treatment of OCD and related disorders. I have specialized training in working with gifted, twice exceptional 2E populations, those with ADHD/ADD, substance overuse and addictions, and people who are in highly competitive, pressured academic and professional environments.
My demeanor and personality are genuine, down-to-earth, professional and caring. I chose this profession because I feel that helping other human beings on this life journey is the most meaningful work I can do. I do this using my experience, knowledge, best-practices in the field and intuition about what might work best for each person. I feel that the counseling process is a collaborative one.
